The American Association for Higher Education Informatization discussed in detail the impact of AI in higher education in its report. At present, AI research mostly focuses on the technical level and neglects the human factor. In recent years, research has begun to focus on the relationship between humans and technology in technological development, emphasizing that technology should serve humanity and enhance human capabilities. Starting from the humanistic shift of AI technology application, this article explores the practical path of GAI empowering college English teaching reform.

Case Study of GAI Application Teaching Reform in the Course of "General Academic English Writing"

Explored the application practice of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in the teaching reform of "General Academic English Writing" course. The course aims to assist first-year and second year undergraduate students in transitioning from general English to specialized English courses, meeting the individual development needs of the country, schools, and students. Teaching reform involves eight aspects: curriculum revision, teaching plan, teaching content, teaching resources, teaching mode, teaching methods, teaching tools, and teaching evaluation.

3 Conclusion

Explored the application path of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in the reform of college English teaching, and proposed five key aspects. Firstly, it emphasizes putting people first, starting from the needs of teaching reform, using GAI tools reasonably, and scientifically designing prompt words. Secondly, incorporating GAI into instructional design can enhance the teaching and learning experience, stimulate students' interest, and create personalized learning experiences. Thirdly, enhance the digital literacy of teachers and students, master GAI application related knowledge and skills, and effectively communicate information. Fourth, integrate multiple teaching tools, build an intelligent learning environment, and improve learning effectiveness and efficiency. Finally, pay attention to the potential risks of GAI application, comply with ethical standards, and cultivate awareness and ability to use GAI correctly. With the development of information technology, the impact of GAI on college English teaching will be profound and systematic, and further research is needed to determine the specific effects.
