Since its establishment in 1995, International Sinology has become a core journal in the field of Sinology in China and has been widely disseminated overseas. This magazine is an important way for overseas sinologists to understand the forefront of Chinese studies and promote international academic exchanges. In Japan, the study of Sinology has a long history. Although there were divisions and transformations before and after the Meiji Restoration, the core of studying Chinese classics remained unchanged. Japanese scholars highly pay attention to the progress of Chinese Sinology research and actively collect and submit articles to the International Journal of Sinology. This magazine has been widely disseminated and influenced in Japanese university libraries, research institutions, and individuals.

1、 Collection of International Sinology in Japanese Libraries and Databases

Introduced the collection of the International Sinology magazine in Japan, mainly concentrated in university and research institution libraries. Through Cinii and the National Library of Congress system, it was found that "International Sinology" has been recognized as three different journals, with three libraries collecting all issues. The inaugural issue in 1995 was collected by 21 libraries, while volumes 2-26 of Elephant Publishing House were collected by 25 libraries. In addition, there are a large number of departmental collections, internal collections of institutions, and personal collections that have not been included in the statistics. With the deepening of academic exchanges between China and Japan, the exchange of books between international students and scholars, as well as university lectures, has also promoted the circulation of "International Sinology", with actual collections far exceeding statistical data.

2、 The publication status of Japanese scholars in International Sinology

Before 2014, International Sinology mainly showcased the academic contributions of Japanese scholars by translating their existing research achievements, involving well-known scholars such as Michio Tanigawa and Wen Ikeda. After 2014, the content and format of the journal became more diverse, with an increase in interviews with scholars and first published articles, such as interview records of Yoshihiro Murayama, Atsushi Ibuki, and others. The revised International Sinology not only promotes direct communication with foreign scholars, but also enriches the form and content of published articles. Liu Dong and Zhang Xiping emphasized the importance of in-depth dialogue and academic criticism between domestic and foreign sinologists, which is also the purpose of publishing articles by domestic and foreign sinologists in International Sinology.

3、 The overall trend and influence of the dissemination of International Sinology in Japan

Analyzed the three main trends of the dissemination of "International Sinology" in Japan: long dissemination time, wide collection and distribution, and insufficient digitalization. At the same time, it is pointed out that after 2014, Japanese scholars had more direct connections with journals and were more proactive in publishing articles, closely related to frequent exchanges with the editor in chief, Mr. Zhang Xiping. Mr. Zhang Xiping emphasized that "International Sinology" should have an international perspective, be inclusive, and develop both internal and external approaches, so that Sinology can return to China and Chinese scholars can become the main body of Chinese cultural research. This purpose has attracted more attention and participation from domestic and foreign researchers, promoting the progress and ideological renewal of Chinese academia.
