From July 25th to 28th, 2024, China Daily and Shanghai International Studies University will hold the International English Education China Conference in Zhuhai. The conference aims to implement Xi Jinping's cultural ideology, strengthen international communication capabilities, and promote the construction of an educational powerhouse. The conference will invite English education experts from China and abroad to exchange research results on foreign language education through keynote speeches, thematic discussions, workshops, and other forms, promoting cultural inheritance and educational exchanges between China and foreign countries. The conference will establish an authoritative academic, immersive experience, and deep social international exchange platform, integrating academic discussions, policy consultations, information sharing, collaborative exchanges, and exhibition displays.

Focusing on the importance of cultural exchange and mutual learning of civilizations, the aim is to promote the high-quality development of global foreign language education in the era of artificial intelligence through this theme.

II Organization

China Daily and Shanghai International Studies University jointly host the 2024 International English Education China Conference, with academic guidance provided by multiple institutions including the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, the School of Foreign Languages and Literature at Beijing Normal University, the Foreign Language Teaching Professional Committee of the China Education Association, the British Council, and the International English Education Research Association.

III Time and place

From July 25th to 28th, 2024, Zhuhai will host the International English Education China Conference. The conference will be registered on the 25th, held from the morning of the 26th to the 28th, and concluded at noon on the 28th.

4 Sub topic areas

The conference topics cover the fields of language, education, and culture, including intercultural communication, English teaching and research, global competency development, teacher development, English teaching in rural and ethnic areas, textbook development, reading and writing teaching, language assessment and testing, language education research, language acquisition teaching methods, international exchange and cooperation, youth English teaching, multilingual policies, academic English, and the application of artificial intelligence technology in language education.

VI Registration and participation

The attendance fee includes an on-site attendance fee of 1980 yuan per person, a special offer of 1680 yuan for registrations before May 31st, and a 5% discount for group registrations of 3 or more people. Participants need to bear their own transportation and accommodation expenses.
