1 Introduction

Emphasis was placed on the crucial role of international Chinese education in building a community with a shared future for mankind, particularly in cultivating the pragmatic abilities of Chinese language learners. Pragmatic competence includes pragmatic awareness and meta pragmatic awareness, which are crucial for cross-cultural communication. The teaching method is developing towards the integration of explicit and implicit teaching, and the role of language landscape as a teaching resource in foreign language teaching has received attention. Foreign research has explored the impact of language landscapes on language learners' abilities, while domestic research has paid less attention to the influence of language landscapes in social environments on learners. As a branch of semiotics, language landscape studies, combined with symbolic interactionism, help to understand the role of language contact in the development of pragmatic competence. This article is based on field research data to analyze the pragmatic competence issues faced by Chinese learners, explore the application of language landscape in teaching, and propose a construction path to promote the development of international Chinese education.

2 Practical Problems Faced by the Development of Pragmatic Competence of Chinese and Foreign Language Learners

The importance of language landscape construction was emphasized as a response to the opinions on language and writing work in the new era. Based on the theory of symbolic interaction, this article analyzes the problems encountered by Chinese foreign language learners in the development of pragmatic competence through field research, and explores the role of language landscape in cultivating these learners' pragmatic competence. Suggestions have been put forward to promote the development of pragmatic competence of Chinese foreign language learners through the use of language landscapes, aiming to reveal the relationship between language landscapes and language acquisition, and provide practical references for international Chinese education.
