Introduction 1

The foreign academic community has been paying attention to the cultural presentation of foreign language textbooks since the 1960s, and research has increased in the past decade; The exploration perspective includes values and cultural forms in textbooks, as well as the proportion of different cultural presentations. The domestic academic community started late but achieved significant results. This study uses CiteSpace tool and Chinese literature from CNKI to visually analyze the trend of domestic research publication volume, author collaboration network, research institution network, co cited keywords, etc. in the past 20 years. The aim is to comprehensively understand the overall research situation, track hotspots and trends, and provide ideas and references for future research.

2 Research tools and data sources

Introduced CiteSpace software system, a tool for literature visualization analysis developed by Chen Chaomei and her team, aimed at analyzing potential knowledge in scientific literature and drawing scientific knowledge graphs. The research data is sourced from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and 75 Chinese papers related to the presentation of foreign language textbook culture were selected through keyword search, covering the time range from 2003 to 2022.

3. Visualization analysis results of literature

Through literature visualization analysis, an overview of research on the cultural presentation of foreign language textbooks in the past two decades has been revealed. The Chinese database of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) includes a total of 75 relevant papers, with half of them being master's and doctoral theses and half being journal papers. Among them, CSSCI and Peking University core journal papers have a relatively high proportion. The top three publications in terms of publication volume include a total of 14 articles, accounting for 18.7% of the total literature, led by "Frontiers in Foreign Language Education Research". Master's and doctoral theses mainly come from 8 domestic universities, with Yunnan Normal University and Beijing Foreign Studies University having the highest number of publications. The trend of publication volume shows that the overall development of the research field is stable. From 2003 to 2009, the initial publication volume was relatively low. In 2021, the publication volume surged and reached its peak in 2022, which is closely related to the country's emphasis on textbook research. Author and collaborative network analysis shows that the cooperation among scholars is generally average, with Zhang Hong, Li Xiaonan, and Yu Rui as the main core author groups. According to the collaborative network of research institutions, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Yunnan Normal University have the highest number of publications, but there is not much cooperation between institutions. The analysis of research topics and hotspots found that keywords such as "cultural presentation" and "cultural presentation methods" have the highest frequency and may become new directions for future research, including "comparative research" and "cross-cultural competence". Keyword clustering analysis shows that research hotspots include "presentation methods," "high school English textbooks," "cultural teaching," and so on. The research evolution and trend analysis divide the research into four stages: germination, preliminary exploration, development, and prosperity. Keyword burst analysis shows that "Chinese culture", "folk culture", "college English textbooks" and other topics are the latest research hotspots.

4 Conclusion

This chapter uses CiteSpace software to analyze 75 foreign language textbook cultural presentation literature collected by CNKI in the past 20 years, revealing the research core position, active universities, research development stages, and future hotspots. It is suggested to strengthen cooperation among research institutions, increase the number of high-quality publications, and enhance research on the cultural presentation of Chinese language teaching materials for foreigners, in order to promote cross regional and interdisciplinary development and international dissemination of Chinese culture.
