Sinology originated in early 19th century France, where French scholars began to scientifically study Chinese civilization. Scholars such as Shawan, Boxi, and others have promoted understanding of China. French Sinology is now very active, providing a wealth of Chinese academic achievements for French readers. The author inherits the traditions of these scholars and hopes that the International Journal of Sinology can develop for a long time.
