Topic 1: What is the security situation facing China in the new era?

This article explores the security situation facing China in the new era through three events, including diplomatic conflicts caused by territorial disputes, covert wars in the field of economic security, and infiltration in the field of ideology and culture. Through students' analysis of events, the aim is to enhance their ability to discern and analyze, while also gaining a comprehensive understanding of the complexity and concealment of national security.

Topic 2: Why is national security an important cornerstone for a stable country?

Through video and image materials, it showcases how modern China fell into a semi colonial and semi feudal state due to foreign aggression, emphasizing the importance of national security for national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. By comparing the Syrian war with the rapid development of the Chinese economy, the key role of national security in social stability and prosperity is highlighted. Teachers guide students to realize that national security is the foundation for achieving national rejuvenation and prosperity, and the guarantee for maintaining social harmony and people's happy lives.

Topic 3: How can we make our country safer?

Through group collaboration and exploration, the importance of national security and various ways to maintain national security were analyzed in depth. The first group discussed major national security events, including the establishment of the Central National Security Commission, the proposal of the overall national security concept, and the establishment of the National Security Education Day for all citizens. The second group introduced the continuously improving national security legal system, including the promulgation and implementation of important laws such as the Anti Espionage Law, the National Security Law, and the Anti Terrorism Law. The third group emphasized the importance of adhering to the overall national security concept, elaborating on its basic connotation, guiding ideology, and implementation principles. The fourth group demonstrated the practice of public participation in maintaining national security through case studies, including discovering and reporting suspicious items, and reporting to national security agencies through various channels. Through these activities, students can understand the complexity of national security and the urgency of maintaining national security from different perspectives, enhancing their awareness and sense of responsibility for national security.

Teacher's message

Emphasis was placed on the importance of national security, and students were called upon to establish awareness of safeguarding national security, consciously assume relevant responsibilities, in order to ensure the well-being of the people and achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Design Review

This chapter introduces a topic based teaching design aimed at enhancing students' awareness of the importance of national security. The design includes two activities that students are interested in: "Activity One: Is This Real?" and "Activity Two: Group Collaborative Exploration" to stimulate students' interest and improve teaching effectiveness. Teaching design emphasizes quality thinking, allowing students to judge truth from falsehood by presenting national security incidents, improving their discernment ability, and promoting students' intrinsic drive and higher-order thinking through group collaborative exploration activities. At the same time, the design adopts diverse teaching forms such as topic based, inquiry based, and practical assignments to promote students' understanding and participation. Teachers should consider the relationship between activities and teaching when designing, ensuring that activities serve teaching, while also paying attention to the diversity of forms that should serve educational and teaching objectives.
