1、 Analysis of Teaching Content

An in-depth analysis was conducted on the current understanding of the concepts of freedom and equality among eighth grade students, pointing out that although students have a preliminary understanding, they lack a deep understanding. The teaching design aims to guide students to explore the spirit of freedom and equality in the rule of law from a legal perspective, and promote the improvement of their cognitive and practical abilities.

2、 Learning Objectives

Through three practical case studies, the aim is to guide students to deeply understand the connotations of freedom and equality. Firstly, through interviews with the "Silent Carriage" service, students are made aware that freedom is within the legal framework. Secondly, through the debate on "pets getting on the bus", we aim to explore the true meaning of equality and enhance students' deep thinking abilities. Finally, through the discussion of "uncivilized behavior of middle-aged women", we emphasize the principle of equality before the law and cultivate students' awareness of respecting the rule of law.

3、 Selection and Design of Teaching Strategies

A teaching strategy was introduced, which involves designing teaching by constructing a consistent framework of "big concepts," "real problems," and "living tasks. This strategy aims to promote students' in-depth understanding and application of the true meaning of freedom and equality by integrating core concepts, key issues, and practical tasks.

4、 Assessment task

The evaluation task requires students to express their views on the "silent carriage" and connect freedom with the rule of law; Discuss passenger disputes and identify manifestations of legal equality; Participate in group discussions, face conflicts between personal relationships and legal principles, and make decisions.

5、 Learning experience and teaching activity design

Through three situational cases on high-speed rail, the essence of freedom and equality is explored. Firstly, through the selection of silent carriages, the limitations of freedom and the protection of freedom by the rule of law were discussed. Secondly, through the debate on guide dogs getting on the bus, the dual meaning of fairness and special care for vulnerable groups were emphasized. Finally, by addressing the context of uncivilized behavior, the principle of equality before the law was elucidated. Teachers guide students to deeply understand the relationship between freedom and equality and the rule of law through on-site interviews, debate competitions, and role-playing activities, and emphasize the importance of the spirit of the rule of law in achieving freedom and equality in classroom summaries.

7、 Testing and homework

Through exploratory activities, students are guided to reflect on the impact of legal progress on individual freedom, with the aim of cultivating their critical thinking and legal awareness. The activity requires students to analyze the relationship between the development of the rule of law and individual freedom, and discuss the increase or decrease of individual freedom in different legal environments. Through group discussions and case analysis, students can gain a deeper understanding of the true meaning of freedom and equality, as well as the role of the rule of law in safeguarding individual rights.

8、 Course resources

This article introduces the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China on riding high-speed rail and carrying items, as well as the clause of "no punishment for first violation" in the newly revised Administrative Penalty Law of the People's Republic of China.
