The 10th National Symposium on English for Specific Purposes was held at Beijing Foreign Studies University, focusing on English teaching reform under the background of the "Four New". The conference gathered over 200 experts and teachers to share the latest research results and teaching development status of ESP. Vice President Sun Youzhong emphasized the importance of ESP teaching in the "Four New" construction, pointing out that universities should explore distinctive ESP curriculum systems and teaching methods. Vice President Jiang Yajun, Professor Cai Jigang, and other experts conducted in-depth discussions on issues such as learning terminology and English major reform. The conference also set up multiple thematic discussions and workshops, with extensive exchanges on topics such as the relationship between ESP and the "four new", teaching methods, and curriculum construction.
