In the 1970s, Australian literature underwent a modern transformation, with the decline of realism literature and the rise of postmodernism. Multiple voices have emerged in the field of literature, with the rise of female, indigenous, and immigrant writers, forming a new pattern of diversity. Literary criticism has begun to absorb Western theories and move towards self theoretical construction. After the 1980s, literature and criticism developed synchronously, forming a postcolonial theoretical discourse with global influence. This column consists of four articles reflecting new trends in contemporary Australian literary research, including early attitudes towards Australian literary criticism, the cross regional characteristics of Australian New Zealand modernism, thematic analysis of works by feminist novelists, and interpretation of indigenous political connotations by indigenous novelists.
