Professor Qian Zhaoming's research direction focuses on the relationship between American modernist poetry and Chinese literature, which was inspired by the advice of his mentor Wang Zuoliang and his participation in a seminar on modern poetry at Durham University. Professor Qian's famous work "Orientalism and Modernism: The Chinese Heritage in the Poetry of Pound and Williams" deeply explores how Chinese culture and art inspire Pound and Williams' creative inspiration, believing that these two poets have found new paths and inspirations for poetry creation from ancient Chinese poetry. Professor Qian's research not only focused on Pound and Williams, but also extended to other modernist masters such as Yeats, Eliot, Stevens, and Moore, who also drew rich creative resources from Far Eastern culture.
