Emphasizing the central role of the Constitution in governing and stabilizing the nation, Xi Jinping pointed out in his important directive on the 10th National Constitution Day that the Constitution serves as the fundamental legal basis for the Party's governance and the supreme legal norm for political and social life. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, historic achievements have been made in the construction and implementation of the constitutional system. Xi Jinping stressed the need to firmly uphold the authority and dignity of the Constitution, promote its improvement and development, and better leverage its role in governance to provide safeguards for Chinese modernization and national rejuvenation. He called for unwavering adherence to the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the state system of people's democratic dictatorship, as well as the political system of the People's Congresses, while implementing the rule of law under socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Comprehensive enforcement of the Constitution, accelerated improvement of the legal system, and enhanced implementation and oversight of the Constitution were also highlighted. Additionally, he urged strengthening theoretical research, education, and publicity on the Constitution to promote constitutional spirit and socialist rule of law, ensuring that its implementation becomes a conscious action of all citizens.
